A Powerful Lesson About Privilege

All this talk about "white privilege" and "Black lives Matter" versus "All Lives Matter". It's hard to see what's right in front of you sometimes, if it's always been there. That goes for privilege of any kind, as well as the esteem and "mental slavery" issues faced by women and PoC every day.

Buzzfeed released a short but powerful video talking about a teacher explaining privilege to some students:

Being born white doesn't make you responsible for the mistakes your ancestors made any more than being born black makes you a second class citizen. What being born white does do, is put you in a position to do something very powerful with your place in society. It allows you to speak for those in the back of the class. Change the narrative.

It's late and I saw the video so I just felt I'd say something short and sweet.
