Official 'Captain Marvel' Trailer Released

It’s been a ridiculously lucrative year for Marvel and Disney, both critically and financially. Not only did they slay the box office with movies like Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther and The Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War, but they introduced their first female superhero in a title role with Evangeline Lily’s Wasp in Peyton Reed-directed Ant-Man & The Wasp. That’s correct: Black Panther was THIS year, not last year. It feels like so long ago right?

Tonight, during the half-time show for Monday Night Football, the Captain Marvel full trailer was released. The movie is slated to drop in March of 2019 so it’s about time to get things underway, however, given Marvel’s usual cycle, we’re expecting an Avengers 4 trailer soon too. More than that, sources put the trailer dropping tomorrow. Kind of weird they’d step on their own toes like that, but Marvel and Disney basically print money so I’ll give them some leeway on this one.

To be honest this trailer was a kind of let-down until the last 15 seconds or so. I’m not sure if Brie Larson’s lines in a lot of it were voice over for the trailer but I certainly hope so. On a whole the trailer wasn’t as hype as I wanted until the end, but it’s definitely good enough! Let’s up that Avengers trailer drops tomorrow and it’s fantastic!

What did you guys think of the trailer? Dear god, I’m gonna explode by the end of this week!

“Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing Captain Marvel, which stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel (even though that may not be Danvers' Starforce name), along with Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Jude Law in an undisclosed role (though it's possible that he's playing the Marvel character Yon-Rogg). Furthermore, Captain Marvel also sees several returning faces from (future) Marvel Cinematic Universe movies: Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, and Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser”
