Miles Morales In The MCU: Confirmed

We just got word in the last few days that, in a bit of enjoyable retcon, Peter Parker has been in the MCU from the very beginning, making his first appearance as a brave little boy who was saved toward the end of Iron Man 2. It seems that revelation was Pandora's Box and once opened, can't be shut again. Every Spider-Man character available to be used in Sony's MCU movies is up for grabs. That includes, Miles Morales.

Many have worn the mask of the Spider, but none have been more popular than Miles Morales, a Black/Hispanic teenager who took over for Peter Parker when he died in the comics. It was in a pocket know what, never mind. Comics. Anyway, all this happened in 2011 and Miles became the Spider-Man of the Ultimates Universe. The two even met in the comics, which was hilarious. In an interview with ScreenCrush, Kevin Feige stated that Morales does indeed exist somewhere in the MCU:

“All of those little things are just Easter eggs for fans until they’re something more than that. But anything that’s happened in the books is potential material for us. In the meantime, I think Miles is a big part of the animated movie that Sony’s making. But where we go … we definitely want you to go “He’s there. He’s there somewhere.”

Boom. So we may not be getting Venom and Carnage mixing it up with Spider-Man (Parker), but there's hope for at least a Miles Morales cameo sometime in the future. What would be insanely cool, is if, following the events of Untitled Avengers 4 in 2019, things change that allow for them both to be Spider-Man, having the older Parker mentor Miles the way Tony Stark mentored him. Until then, we'll have to make do with the animated Spider-Man Movie starring Miles Morales, due out December 2018.
